An update from Blake Parker, Executive Minister, about three important roles at Hendersonville Church of Christ.
- Megan Lawson, Kids’ Minister
- Cory Sanders, Caretaker, Whispering Pines Christian Camp
- Christie Rochelle, Interim Day School Director
We let you know a few weeks ago that Jamie Walker, our Kids’ Minister and Day School Director, is leaving us. Jamie did a fantastic job and though we are sad about her departure, we are excited to announce Megan Lawson as our next Kids’ Minister. Megan has worked in the Kids’ Ministry for several years and is well-prepared with her experience and education to succeed in this role.
In addition, Christie Rochelle is serving as interim Day School Director as we work to finalize how we are moving forward with that role. Christie has been a mainstay at the Day School and we appreciate her willingness to continue to use her talents in that great work.
Finally, we have news regarding Whispering Pines Christian Camp. We tragically lost our friend and camp caretaker Jim Lawson earlier this year. We have grieved with the Lawson family and with all of you. Jim did a wonderful job as caretaker and we have been praying for how to move forward with that role.
We are happy that Cory Sanders agreed to take on the role of camp caretaker. He grew up around and loves Whispering Pines. He possesses the passion and skill set to succeed in this role and to continue the great work done there.
Welcome Megan, Christie and Cory to these new roles. Pray for them and all of our congregation’s leadership and family as we continue to do the work that God has called us to do.
