Two years ago, as we were just getting back to in-person services, we needed a Kids Minister. As we searched, we were blessed to already have on staff someone who had several years of experience with our Kids’ Ministry as a Ministry Assistant, had a degree in Family Ministry, and also grew up at this congregation. Megan Lawson was that person, and we have been blessed to have her for the last two years as our Kids’ Minister. Megan loves this church and our kids and has poured herself into this role.
Megan informed us last week that she has decided to move on to the next phase of her life and career and is stepping aside as our Kids’ Minister effective a week from today. Though her decision saddens us as a staff and leadership team, we understand and fully support her.
Megan has agreed to help us as much as possible until the end of the year as we transition and work through the subsequent phases. We have begun the process of filling the Kids’ Minister role. Our Family Discipleship Ministry team (Jon Micah Richardson, our Family Discipleship Minister, and William Murphy and Hailey Parrott, our Student Ministers), are leading the search. We will give updates as needed along the way, and we have complete confidence that God will lead the right person to us and that the future of this ministry will be blessed.
